RECOGNITION

The Suluh Budiman Building has been gazetted as part of the National Heritage Act 2005

MUSEUM

The National Education Museum at UPSI, located in the historic Suluh Budiman Building built between 1919 and 1922, was originally home to the Sultan Idris Training College (SITC) and was declared a National Heritage Building in 2009. Opened in 2011, it features 21 permanent galleries and themed exhibitions on Malaysia’s educational history, notable figures like Za’ba, and rare artifacts such as an old cannon, elephant tusks, and vintage teaching tools. Admission is free, and the museum also offers research, conservation, and educational services.

RESEARCH AND CONSULTATION

Research and consultation forms the core of this institution’s activities. The research undertaken is at the postgraduate level, with priority given to postdoctoral studies. Researchers comprise UPSI academic staff as well as other scholars from within Malaysia and abroad. In addition, internal research is also conducted by the institute’s own personnel.

ART GALLERY

The Art Gallery is a welcoming space that showcases a variety of artworks from artists of different backgrounds. Visitors can enjoy art in many styles, from traditional to modern, while artists have the chance to share their ideas, stories, and creativity with the community. It is a place to celebrate talent, culture, and the beauty of artistic expression.
